Jesus himself was careful to align His will to His Father's will. How much more do we need to be careful? He set an example for us.
- He stayed calm amid a storm Mark 4:35-41. Jesus calmed the choppy waters.
- He stayed calm amid an anxious circumstance John 2:1-10. Jesus turns water into wine.
He did not jump up on every opportunity to prove His capability. He stayed humble and sought perfect timing from His Father.
We tend to rush and get things done.
But over the past few days I have slowed down and consciously kept a positive note that even if things don't work out the way I planned for the day, there's always a new day tomorrow to get it done. I have kept away from reading news on the Internet cos that would nullify the work being done by God's promises.
Today my mom mentioned over the phone that she heard there were many cases of COVID-19 popping up in Mumbai. She asked me if I know about it. I told her I don't watch the news channel and there is no newspaper coming into the house. So I was unaware of the news she gave me. She agrees that news sites /channel can mislead and take us away from believing what God has promised.
I don't promote ignorance.
COVID-19 is a great problem. When it hit the world, God did not want me or you to study the degree of damage it is capable to do or work on the statistics. He just wanted us to pray and keep on praying.
If we haven't done that yet, it's time we quit watching the news and quit following statistics. Start praying.
There are enough skilled technicians around the world to keep a tab on the statistics, the travel path of the virus. God bless them! cos their skill comes handy to researchers and health care professionals.
We are called to do our Father's will.
COVID-19 has come and will go away. A few years later something else would come up.
We need to continue praying.
Staying away from misleading news and slowing down has made time for me to focus on what I need to get done. This way I stay away from other clutters in life as well.
As I was writing this article in my notebook today, my 23-month-old toddler grabbed away my pen and started happily scribbling over my notes. I just watched her for a few mins enjoying herself probably thinking that she is helping out her mom with some more vital points. Then I just continued writing my notes with a pencil and let her have my pen.
I have always been ambitious in nature so that's the area I am asking God's will for. So that I can be that woman of courage, vision, hospitality and spiritual giftedness that God intends me to be.
God has given me a mentor in Reji (my husband).
If you ask him, he would say - It's not an easy job.
