Record Your Blessings

Your story could be exactly what someone wants to hear. Your trails and pains could give them a piece of hope to hold on. Share your's to encourage.

Many years ago, there was a historic fight held between the Israeli team and the Amalekite (those were the bad guys). They both showed good chances of winning the fight. But there can be just one winner.

Israel had well-known players like Hur, Aaron, Moses. The opponent, Amalekite had players who were vicious and out to prove their worth.

The Israeli team put up a valiant fight against their opponent, but that was only as long as Moses could hold his hand up. As soon as Moses’s hands grew tired, the Amalekite would begin to hammer the Israelites.

Oh! It was horrible to watch the good guys lose.

With just some more time for the sun to set and before the fight ends with the bad guys winning, Hur and Aaron ran quickly to get a stone for Moses to sit on. They decided to help hold Moses’s hand up.
No sooner they did this, there was a tremendous shift in the tone of the fight. The Amalekites were getting beaten up badly.

Little did the Amalekites know that the Israeli team were powered by God Himself. In the end, the Israelite wiped their opponent out.

'Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.” '
Exodus 17:14 NIV®

Joshua was second in line after Moses. God wanted Moses to document this event.
If God Himself stresses on recording/documenting, how much more important it is for us to capture Lord’s doing in our lives.

Our life experiences are worth sharing. Do not think they are bootless.

There is someone (maybe just one!) out there who needs to hear that story.

It could cheer them, encourage, motivate and be a blessing in their life.

You can share moments of failures, joy, struggles or experience with a miracle. God would use it as an appropriate guide for the appropriate person in need.

Your written /recorded experiences with God’s faithfulness can also be an effective tool to pass on Christ as Lord and Savior to your future generations. (your children, grandchildren, nephew, niece and so on)

My parents have shared with me and my brother about God’s providence amid tragedies that they experienced. It has helped us as kids to pray even if our little minds could not grasp much of how BIG He is.
Those stories have become a part of my life now and helped me reach more closer to God and seek His hand.

Biographies of men and women whose life turned around with the touch of Christ has constantly helped me strengthen my walk with Jesus.

'Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, ' Psalms 105:5 NIV®
This verse tells us to remember the wonders of God. His miracles and the judgements he pronounced.

God wants us to be encouraged with things He is doing in our life. So that we can be an encourager to others. He does not want us to stock up our encounter with Him to ourselves.
He wants us to be in motion, vocal, fire up and inspire others too. He wants us to be a blessing to others.

If I spot a recipe worth trying out, I will note it down in my personal recipe book. I will document it.
I do this so that I can refer to them when needed. I do this so that some favourite family recipes would never go extinct.
I also do this so that I can pass it on to my kids for keepsake. That way they can enjoy cooking up meals they enjoyed eating while growing up.

In the same way, keeping a record of your experiences will help you
  • Remember God’s grace and mercy in your life.
  • See the forgiveness God gave you and you will be able to forgive people.
  • Remember God’s providence and trust God again.
  • Rekindle that hope you may have lost.
  • Enjoy time with God again.

One of the best gifts we could pass on is a constant reminder about how God has made our life worth it.
And that, the same faithful and loving God can do greater things in their lives too.

Enjoy this song and have a blessed time with Jesus.
