Seek God Like A Precious Jewel

'You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. '
Jeremiah 29:13NIV®.

My older daughter who is 9 loves building with Legos. She absolutely loves every bit of time she spends with it. There is one piece that she cherishes the most. It’s a blue heart.

During play, she tends to accidentally drop a few pieces onto the floor. The pieces are very tiny so she would quickly bend down and gather whatever is well within her reach. If there are any that rolled under the bed, then those would be left for me to fetch. Although she would want to have those pieces back, those are not something she will miss.

But, if this particular ‘blue heart’ falls down on the floor. She would go to great lengths to find it even if it could have rolled away to the tightest corner of a room.

All of us have treasures in life. It could be our health, our investments, our vocation, our hobbies etc. We put a great deal of effort in achieving or doing things. We cherish them.

But have you ever wondered what would happen if things took a wrong turn in life?
Our job would be handed over to someone else. We are disposable. Our investments? They could go south.
The treasures we value are only temporary.

I am not stating that job, education and other essentials of life are not important. They are vital but they have far less value than seeking God first.

Jesus cautions us, 'For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. ' Luke 12: 34 NIV®

'But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. '
Matthew 6:19-20 NIV®

We need to seek the right kind of treasures. Treasures that won’t go waste. Treasures that have lasting value and can be passed on to our future generations.

Seek God with all your heart. He is a true treasure. The one who finds Him finds life. We don’t have to figure it out alone. Jesus is there to educate us.

'I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. ' Psalms 32:8 NIV®

Today if you want to seek Jesus with all your heart, go ahead and take that step. You will not go wrong.
Have a blessed time with Jesus.
