Jesus turns Defeat to Feat

'being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. '
Philippians 1:6 NIV®.

Did you realize God has begun a good work in you?

Yes, He has, ever since God befriended us. God has been transforming us little by little. I am sure you noticed those changes.

But, why is He transforming us? Doesn’t He like us the way we are?

Of course! He loves us. He loves what He has created but He does not like the sin that grows / lives in his creation.
Sin separates us from Him because He is pure. He gets us better by His word. His living word transforms us.

'to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. '
Ephesians 4:23-24

Jesus helps us get our acts together so that we can present ourselves as a vessel ready to set sail on a destination charted by Him.

Enroute Jesus warns us that the path is narrow & difficult. (Matthew 7:13-14).

Life won’t be easy. But don’t throw in the towel. Don’t let adversity consume us.

Albert Einstein quoted ‘Adversity introduces a man to himself’. I believe adversity should introduce a man to a God who is bigger than their problems.

Take Jesus' hand. Cos that will help us do the heavy lifting.

Jesus tells us
' “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”' Matthew 11:28-30

So be confident. Paul mentions, there is a good work that has started in us and that the one who has started it will bring it to completion. Let God do His part while we continue to team-up with Him.

Today the world is trying to cope with COVID-19. For many of us, life is still normal. When I say normal, I mean we still have a home to stay and food to eat. There is no disruption there.

But for many their source of livelihood has gone, and they are left troubled, hungry and penniless.

I remember a recent conversation Reji (my husband) had with a friend of ours. She used to babysit my older daughter a few years ago. She has grown tremendously in faith over the last 7 years.
For the past few years, she has been working with the hospitality sector and because of COVID-19 precautions, she is unable to travel for work. She is a widow and is the only breadwinner in her family that consists of 2 young boys.
Reji asked her if she needed any financial help. To which she confidently replied, “God is my shepherd”.

In this storm, she praised God. She relies on God’s promise to build up her confidence.

Don’t be defeated with circumstances. They will always be around. They are launch pads for God to turn your defeat into a feat for His glory alone.

So, let’s Praise God and Thank Him for the work He is doing in our life.

Enjoy this song & have a blessed time with Jesus.

Casting Crowns ~ Praise you in this storm
