Standing Firm

'He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. '
1 Corinthians 1:8 NIV®.

Did you know there are different kinds of the marathon in this world?
the half marathon, the full marathon, and the ultra-distance.
The ultra-distance is the toughest of all and the longest marathon.

Running looks easy right?
It just seems like a sport where you quickly place steps in front of each other.
But running a marathon is pure hard work.
It’s a sport of great endurance. physical and mental.

I have run a marathon, so I know it’s not easy. For me, it was tough, primarily because I am not a professional.
I love to run for fun sake. I mean, I just love to run for no reason!

But running an actual marathon made me realize it’s not as easy as it seems.
Although I did manage to get some weeks of training before the day of the event I found it tough.
I wasn’t ready for the physical exhaustion I’d face. Somewhere beyond halfway I did have thoughts of slowing down or giving up.

Our Spiritual path is no different. It's a path that requires great physical and mental endurance.

It requires us to train your mind to be in tune with God’s

Spiritual run requires us to be aware of what Jesus says.
So Jesus sent us a helper in the form of the Holy Spirit that would encourage us constantly to stand firm in our faith.

A marathon runner requires the right gears.
Comfortable shoes, the right activewear, a focussed mind, a trained and fit body, preparation for even the worst terrain.

In the same way, we as Christians need to wear the armour of God daily.
'Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. ' Ephesians 6:11

Our gear for spiritual life is well explained in Ephesians 6:14-16
  • Belt of Truth.
  • Breastplate of Righteousness.
  • Feet fitted with the Gospel of Peace.
  • Shield of Faith.
  • Helmet of Salvation.
  • Sword of the Spirit – The Word of God.

He will continue to strengthen and keep us firm till the end.

Enjoy this song today & have a blessed time with Jesus.
